Digital Media Marketplace: Technical Specification
The deliverable
A company procuring software for a digital-media content marketplace needed the thing most procurements skip: a written definition of what they are actually buying. I wrote the 10-section technical specification covering roles and authorization, the video-processing pipeline, GPS verification, dynamic watermarking and the payment architecture (iyzico + Stripe).
The spec also defines scope boundaries, UAT acceptance criteria and warranty frameworks, so the contract has teeth: the buyer knows what done means, the vendor knows what they signed up for, and disagreements resolve against a document instead of a memory.
Not all engineering output is code. A precise document that de-risks a six-figure procurement is an engineering artefact too.
